Mini Shime Workshop


Have you ever wondered about how a taiko drum is made? Here is your chance to go behind the scene and learn the art of making taiko drum!

Studio Takumi is hosting a "Mini Shime Workshop" on Sunday 13th November at 1pm.

The workshop will provide a hands-on experience for making small taiko drum - from stretching and stitching a real cow hide to assemble your drum with the correct rope tension.

All materials are supplied and you get to take home your own handmade mini shime taiko! Workshop fee is $120 (including all material costs) and places are limited. So get in qucik and book your place!

Date: Sunday 13th November 2016

Time: 1pm start (please allow 3 hours to complete your shime)

Cost: $120 (includes all materials PLUS you get to take home your very own shime!)

CLASS SCHEDULES

Saturday Classes: 

  • 12noon to 1:30pm Beginner/Level 1 Class

  • 1:30pm to 3pm Level 2 Class

Friday Night Class:

  • 6pm to 7:30pm Open Class (mixed levels)

"New Years Kick Start - Taiko Intro Course":

  • Friday night class starts on Friday 17th January for weeknight class (6-7:30pm)

  • Saturday class starts on Saturday 18th January (12-1:30pm)

 

Fees: - ​

  • $25 per class, please bring cash
     

Regular Taiko Class Schedule:

  • Term 1 -  starts on the weekend of 17th/18th January for 10 weeks

(Please note there are NO TAIKO CLASSES on 14th/15th February and 28th/29th March)​

  • Term 2 - TBC

  • Term 3 - TBC

​

  • Term 4 - TBC

​

Fees - 

  • $200 for 10 week term (paid in advance and not transferable) or $25 each casual class
